Modular Components

Modular precast concrete can be produced by producers of precast products that includes a floor, roof, side and back wall and if necessary, two front walls SteelCell. Apart from being fast to build, precast concrete modules are also able to be finished and equipped at the production plant.

These units, which have long been used as jail cells, are being expanded to classrooms, hotels, and motels.

Construction of prisons, jails, and other justice facilities is primarily done using modules. This can include single or multiple-level constructions up to a height of 12 stories.

The modules can come in monolithic units of up to 4 cells. The standard configuration generally includes an inmate room and vertical “chaseā€ between rooms for the mechanical, plumbing, and electrical accommodations.

Formwork made with steel may be proprietary, but it is equipped with mechanisms that adjust the shape and function to “strip off” the module.

The final finish is epoxy paint on the exposed surfaces of the walls. In addition, as much mechanical, plumbing, and electrical (MEP), equipment as possible, are installed in the plant. Final fitting takes place on-site. Exterior walls with insulation are similar to sandwich wall panels and they can have any architectural treatment.

Steel Cell for Steel Detention Cells

Steel Cell of North America, Inc., managed to revolutionize how detention centers and steel cells are built within a little more than a decade. Steel Cell in Georgia manufactures and designs prefabricated modular cell jails made of durable and corrosion-resistant galvannealed metal. Steel Cell offers a range of products which are both lightweight and easily shipped, and are designed according to the needs and requirements for security as well local building codes.

Steel Cell offers a wide range of products that can be easily installed into both existing and newly constructed structures.

Steel Cell’s modularization efforts have expanded to include other elements of detention centers. Steel Cell’s cell designs are available with either front or rear mechanical chases and can include an integral shower.

The cell can come in a configuration of 4, 8 or more beds, and comes with anti-contraband furniture. Steel cell manufactures and provides a unit designed to isolate medical patients and also a modular common shower.
